In this case I think both would have been useful since the question is specifically about mandolin playing. The question on this meta-site with the most up-votes contains "music notation" in the title and the tags, and looking on the main site at the most up-voted questions shows they duplicate tags in the titles, albeit (as luser droog says) fitted naturally in. | |

Thanks for your thoughts on this. Do you think that the name in the title is needed given that the question was already tagged mandolin ?
